Intermittent claudication occurs when the legs do not get enough blood to perform physical activity such as walking. In general, results in progressive pain, leg cramps or buried in walking and is not due to body posture. After a few minutes to sit and relax, to relieve the pain usually disappears. It is a cardiovascular disease, which can often be corrected through the femoral artery bypass surgery. It can be serious when presenting vascular injury in other body parts such as the heart. Obstruciton posed a serious case can cause the blood flow to the tissues begin to die and become necrotic, but I think most people would be in enough pain for surgery that was known long before reaching this point.
